Hiawath National Forest
Free camping is available almost anywhere outside designated day use sites, campgrounds, and permit areas on the Hiawatha National Forest. With one hundred miles of shoreline on three Great Lakes, the Hiawatha is uniquely positioned to provide visitors with a range of nationally distinct recreation opportunities. Your stay is limited to 16 days. After 16 days you may move to another site a minimum of one mile away for an additional 16 days. This allows the area to rest and return to its natural state. Located in Michigan.
