Camp 32 Campground
Free camping is available at 8 sites. Facilities include fire rings, picnic tables, vault toilets, and water (hand pump). Maximum vehicle length is 20 feet and there is a 14-day limit. Located in Kootenai National Forest, Montana.
Backcountry Camping at Glacier National Park - Montana
Free permit required to avoid overcrowding. Free sites available on a first come first serve basis. Reservations can be made for a $20 fee. Hundreds of sites available in 66 campgrounds. Many sites have time and fire restrictions.
Caribou-Targhee National Forest
Occupies over 3 million acres and stretches across southeastern Idaho, from the Montana, Utah, and Wyoming borders. Free camping is allowed throughout the Forest in many undeveloped sites.
